Graduation Criteria
For a student enrolled in a program to graduate and be entitled to receive a diploma, they must:
- Complete all credited and non-credited courses taken with a grade of at least DD or P (there must be no F grades remaining in any credited or non-credited course).
- Complete their program with a CGPA of at least 2.00.
Single-Course Exam Right:
Students whose CGPAs are at least 2.00 and who cannot fulfill graduation requirements solely because they received an F grade in a single course (creditied or non-credited) may be granted an exam right by the relevant executive board, without having to retake these courses, provided that the relevant instructor gives approval.
If the student passes the single-course exam, they receive a letter grade of DD for that course.
(Students submit their petitions requesting the right to take the single-course exam by obtaining approval from the instructor teaching the course after passing grades for all other courses are reflected in the system. They can take the single-course exam at the time and place specified by the instructor).
Graduation Application
To receive the diploma, the completed graduation application must be submitted in its approved and signed form to the Registrar's Office. The Graduation Application is made via the ÖBİKAS system (registration.bogazici.edu.tr-->Student Information-->Application for Graduation).
The graduation application form is submitted electronically via the system after updating personal information. The application request is sent through the system to the relevant units (Library, Budget and Performance Directorate, Dormitory, *Student Affairs Office) for approval. For the graduation application to be approved, all debts to the University must be paid, and all books borrowed from the library must be returned.
To get the approval of the Student Affairs Office, the BUCard must be returned.
Once all approvals are completed, the form must be printed out, signed, and submitted to the department secretariat.
For detailed information, you can get information via the e-mail address iibf.register@bogazici.edu.tr.
To receive your diploma at the graduation ceremony, you must complete your clearance procedures by the deadline announced by the student affairs.
Note: For Double Major (DMP) and Minor programs, signatures must also be obtained on the same form.
Conditions for Participation in the Graduation Ceremony
For information regarding graduation, announcements on the university website must be followed. https://mezuniyettoreni.bogazici.edu.tr
Undergraduate students whose total credits completed at the end of the Fall semester plus credits obtained after course withdrawal in the Spring semester are 10 or less short of the graduation credits of the program they are enrolled in may attend the ceremony but cannot receive their diplomas. They receive their diplomas at the first diploma ceremony following their entitlement. Upon earning the right to graduate (for example, at the end of summer school or the Fall semester), they can receive a "temporary graduation certificate" equivalent to a diploma.
